We are really proud of our Certified Flight Instructor Dayana who graduated with her Associate degree from Miami Dade College. Coming all the way from Quito, Ecuador to spread her wings and start her career as a professional pilot. The road has been long, rewarding and filled with obstacles that have been overcome. But above all, Dayana is very determined to get to that right-seat of the airlines, and she will! Read all about her story in this article.
Hi, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Dayana Rodriguez, I am 24 years old and I am from Ecuador. I have been working as a Certified Flight Instructor for almost two years now.
What brought you to Wayman Aviation Academy?
I came here to convert my license, then I started Miami Dade College in 2018 and started working as a Flight Instructor then too. Basically what I have achieved was my associate and flight instructor license.
That’s great, how many hours did you build until now?
Until now I’ve built about 1300 hours in almost two years.
How did you enjoy your time at MDC while combining it with your part-time job as a flight instructor here at Wayman?
My time at MDC and Wayman was good, but also hard. I was going to college full-time while also working here part time.
How did you experience combining the two? We have a lot of interested people who want to do that too.
Looking back it definitely was hard, but I am so proud of myself. I’ve built my hours and I have my Associates degree right now.
What would you advise future students that have the same ambition as you?
My biggest advise for future Miami Dade and Wayman students would be study hard, be responsible and enjoy the career. Which is the most important one!
