First Responder Aviation College Grant

🇺🇸 50% college tuition, $700,000 Grant for Hometown Heroes

Wayman Aviation Academy is offering a unique fund of $700,000 to help first responders and their immediate family members earn their wings and grow careers in aviation departments throughout South Florida and the entire USA. Police officers, fire fighters, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are good under pressure, reliable, problem solvers. These are great traits to become professional pilots.

Candidates can get 50% of College tuition covered. This does not extend to flight training.



Accreditation and Experience
The school is FAA 141 approved and ACCET accredited. It has over 35 years of experience in aviation and has trained more than 5000 pilots.

Quality Instruction
The school boasts over 58 experienced instructors with a favorable student to flight instructor ratio of 1:4, providing personalized attention and efficient skill development.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
The school houses two FAA 145 Air Repair Station certified maintenance hangars, an in-house FAA testing center, and over 200,000 square feet of training area.

Extensive Fleet
The school operates more than 40 aircraft, including C152, C172, C172 G1000, PA34, Tecnam T2006T.

Convenient Schedule
The school operates 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, accommodating various student schedules.

 In a significant initiative to honor the dedication and commitment of our brave first responders, Wayman Aviation Academy is thrilled to announce the launch of a groundbreaking $700,000 grant supporting 50 students. These scholarships are exclusively designated for first responders and their immediate family members who aspire to embark on a journey toward an aviation career.

The aviation industry has long recognized the indispensable role played by first responders in safeguarding our communities. Wayman Aviation is proud to take this opportunity to give back and support those who have selflessly served our communities. The scholarships will cover college tuition toward aeronautical science (pilot) degrees and the soon-to-be-launched maintenance management and aviation management degrees.

Mr. Tony Shen, President of Wayman Aviation Academy, expressed his enthusiasm for this program, stating, “Our first responders, Fire, Police, and EMS have a strong relationship with the aviation industry and significant potential to bring their unique skills to the cockpit. This grant program reflects our deep appreciation and commitment to giving back to those who serve our communities.”

The scholarship application process will be open starting October 18th until all 50 opportunities are committed. Who qualifies for the first responder grant?

  1. ID.me First Responder List
    The website ID.me is nationally recognized for government credentialling. If you have official identification that matches occupation on this list you qualify.
  2. Immediate Family Members
    If you are the spouse, son or daughter of a first responder as credentialed above, then you qualify.
  3. All aplicants must meet the enrollment requirements of Wayman Aviation Academy.
    18 years of age, speak english, good health, and high school diploma or equivalent.
