The Commercial Pilot License represents the culmination of our comprehensive Professional Pilot Program, signifying the pinnacle of your flight training journey. This is where your accumulated hours of hands-on flight experience could potentially start yielding returns.

Distinguishing itself, our Academy offers an exceptional FAA-approved accelerated Commercial Part 141 training program, spanning 52 hours. This streamlined curriculum marks a notable 70-hour reduction from the traditional 120-hour course, resulting in substantial cost savings of close to $8,000.

For those pursuing their training through Part 61 on a part-time basis, we provide focused single-engine instruction encompassing 15 flight hours. In addition, the curriculum includes multiple cross-country flights and 10 hours spent piloting a technically advanced G1000-equipped aircraft, all crucial elements of the training process.

Training Structure

Stage IV Objectives: The objective of Stage IV is to broaden the student’s knowledge of VFR cross-country and night operations and provide the skill necessary to operate safely in the night environment and during extended cross-country flights.

Stage IV Standards:This stage is complete when the student can demonstrate the complete and accurate planning of VFR cross-country flights and can safely perform those flights using pilotage, dead reckoning, and navigation systems. In addition, the student must demonstrate safe night flight operations.

Stage V Objectives: is to provide instruction and practice in the complex aircraft. The stage objective is to broaden the student’s knowledge and provide the skill necessary to safely fly a complex airplane which is similar to those frequently used in commercial operations. Additionally, the introduction and practice of commercial maneuvers is included so the student can begin acquiring proficiency.

Stage V Standards: This stage is complete when the student can demonstrate commercial pilot proficiency in the operation of the complex aircraft and basic knowledge of the advanced commercial maneuvers.

Stage VI Objectives: The objective of Stage VI is to provide the instruction and practice necessary to attain the proficiency level required of a commercial pilot with an instrument rating.

Stage VI Standards: This stage is complete when the student can demonstrate all flight maneuvers and procedures at the proficiency level of a commercial pilot with an instrument rating. The student also will successfully complete the Stage VI and End-of-Course Flight Checks .

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How long will it take to get my Commercial Pilot License?
It depends on how much time you have to devote to training, and your previous flight times.  Students who already have over 220 flight hours and can train every day can finish it within a month or two.  Student who begin training immediately after their instrument rating and can only train a few hours per week may take longer, up to a year to accomplish it.

What kind of Aircraft will I train in?
Wayman Flight Training utilities Piper Seneca aircraft with a Garmin 430 system  for multi-engine training. Piper Arrows are flown for commercial single certificates. This is a “complex” aircraft with retractable landing gear and a variable-pitch propeller.

How many flight hours are required?
Once the FAA aeronautical knowledge test is completed and the aeronautical experience requirements of Part 141 are met, the student can complete the single engine training in as little as 27 hours.
